{yarn along}

how about a little bit of a yarn along? from now on, i'll be linking up with ginny over at small things on wednesdays and sharing about what i'm reading and what i'm knitting. the two go hand-in-hand in my world. if you're interested in joining, head over and join! there are lots of crafty bloggers, so just get ready to add to your blog roll ;)

despite my graduate work load, i'm still finding time to read and knit. it's amazing what you can get done when you carve out a little bit of time.

bread and wine, by shauna niequist, is exactly what i need right now. her stories of food, friends, community, and her personal journey is so encouraging. her short essays are perfect for a quick quieting of the soul, or you can fly right through several stories, or even the whole book. there's even recipes! i'm almost through with it and i've been searching for the next book. i must say that i may not dig into my summer reading pile yet...i've got a couple of books in an online cart that i'm thinking about ordering.

i caved and casted on something else- onward by shannon cook. this worsted weight shawl is knitting up so quickly and of course, the garter stitch is ah-mazing and oh-so-wonderful to squish between rows. the knitting is addicting and i keep telling myself, "just one more row and then i'll---". i can't wait to wear this on the cool spring mornings and nights that are ahead of us. literally, just around the corner.
